The new Charles Kendall Freight website was launched live on the 8th of March.  Linking with the Charles Kendall group website, the new freight website allows customers to locate and contact all our global freight offices, view casestudies, meet the senior team, request a quote and read about our full range of supply chain services.

Coveted AEO Status Awarded

Friday 12th February 2010

Charles Kendall Freight has been awarded the coveted accreditation of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) effective 25th February 2010.  Charles Kendall Freight holds the highest level of AEO status and our Security and Safety standards have been audited and approved across all 5 UK sites along with our written quality procedures.  As one of the relatively few companies to hold this standard in the UK, Charles Kendall Freight will get a lower risk score within HMRC systems and in turn our clients will get a "Fastrack" service through Customs controls.  This puts Charles Kendall Freight in a secure partnership with HMRC within the supply chain and our customers, both existing and prospective, can have a great deal of confidence they are working with a highly qualified and experienced company.

Charles Kendall Freight staff in our Hong Kong and Shanghai offices are preparing for the Spring Festival celebrations that go into full force later this month for the Lunar New Year which ushers in the Year of the Tiger.  Hong Kong and Shanghai will hold markets, such as the Flower Market, New Year Parades and of course Fireworks, such as those held in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour.  Completed in time for the celebrations, our new branding has made a great impression, especially in Hong Kong where our branded truck can be spotted on downtown streets.

The travel season, or Chunyun (spring transportation), is an annual test on China's transportation systems, with an expected 2.54 billion journeys over the 40 days.

  • China's Spring Festival travel season this year started from Jan. 30 and will end on March 10.
  • A total of 820,000 buses and 20,000 ships will be in service.
  • The railways are expected to transport 210 million passengers, or 5.25 million per day.
  • About 28.94 million passengers are expected to travel by plane.

New corporate identity launched

Monday 4th January 2010

On January 4 2010, we launched our new group corporate identity - and this new website.

We’d been using our previous logo for almost 20 years, and it was definitely time for a change. But the new identity is more than a tidy-up. We’ve taken the best of what we had, and evolved it into a clearer, more contemporary expression of our corporate ‘personality’.

As you can see, the new version of our traditional lion symbol also forms the letters ‘CK’. It’s a device that adds a welcome human element to the identity, capturing the ingenuity and creativity so central to our brand.

The new logo is also the key to a more consistent set of group company logos. A coherent, professional identity reflects a coherent, professional business, and we believe this new look can act as a focus for pride in the business – both for our own people and our partners.

Looking forward to 2010

Thursday 31st December 2009

At Charles Kendall Procurement right up to the end of 2009 we have been extremely busy.  Our work continues to be as geographically wide ranging and varied as ever.  As we move towards the start of 2010 among our general business we are currently working on a number of interesting projects ranging from a large motorcycle programme to the provision of anti narcotic sniffer dogs accompanied by a full dog handler training programme.  We wish all our clients, suppliers and partners a very happy new year.
