New CMA CGM ship breaks down in Xiamen

The CMA CGM Osiris, one of the carrier's new 15,000 TEU container ships, suffered an engine failure as it was leaving the port of Xiamen last week.

Tug boats had to be brought in to tow the vessel back to a berth for inspection.

After it was determined that repairs were needed, over 5000 containers had to be removed from the ship before it was towed to a repair yard in Shanghai. The boxes will now be transhipped, but those that had cargo on board will unfortunately suffer delays.
