World Bank Programmes in Cambodia

In order to strengthen public procurement systems, and to assist in the fight against corruption, the Royal Government of Cambodia, funded by the World Bank, appointed Charles Kendall to act as its exclusive Procurement Agent for all World Bank Funded Programmes in the country.

Covering all sectors of the economy, project included provincial and rural infrastructure, water and sanitation, land management and administration, rural electrification, education, health, public financial management reform and trade development. As a result, Charles Kendall’s assistance positively contributed to the development of rural household electricity services, provided vital road access to over 1,000 rural villages, increased primary and lower secondary school enrolment rates to over 94%, significantly increased local authority and service delivery agency monitoring through social accountability activities and reduced child mortality and stunting rates.
