Moisture Control for Tobacco Leaf Machinery

Moisture Control for Tobacco Leaf Machinery

We were asked to pack and ship a large piece of tobacco leaf processing machinery.

The heavy duty design of our packing included enveloping the entire item in a purpose-made foil moisture barrier bag, which was hermetically sealed and contained desiccant to sustain a state of dryness inside the case. The case measured 1411 x 335 x 374cms and weighed 36,800kgs. The case was constructed in advance, ready to receive the machinery on day one of the project timeline. The machinery was then packed on days two and three, before being loaded out on the fourth and final day. Next, the case needed to be delivered from our warehouse in Manchester to Liverpool port for loading onto an ACL RoRo vessel. Its onward destination was to Portsmouth in Virginia, USA which took 13 days transit from quay to quay. As with all our cases, the timber complied with ISPM15 and was marked to international standards as well as contract requirements.
