Since 2012, Charles Kendall has worked as a key business partner for the UK Department for International Development (DfID).

Working together on the strategic and operational procurement and distribution of goods and equipment, supplier services, and capacity development services under an exclusive agreement in Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Yemen, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia. In South Sudan to support the development of the education sector. We are responsible for the procurement, printing and distribution of over 9.2 million textbooks and reference books to 5,400 primary schools and accelerated learning centres. Despite a declining security environment and a rainy season that renders regions of the country inaccessible for months at a time, 70% of the materials have been successfully delivered. In the Democratic Republic of Congo Charles Kendall is working with DfID to strengthen civilian participation, oversight and control mechanisms, support parliamentary defence, security and justice commissions; strengthen financial accountability; support cross-government co-ordination, accountability and internal oversight of security sector institutions; and implement a Police Support programme focusing on support to the national police reform process and capacity building for the “Police Nationale Congolaise”.
