Export Crates Handled with Care

Charles Kendall Packing are used to working with large pieces of machinery. So when we were approached to create suitable packaging for two specialist machines, we knew we could lend our efficient and expert service.

Additionally, the client required us to arrange shipping of the goods which is where our sister company, Charles Kendall Freight, is able to step in. The machines - a mini fill & close machine and de-mould machine - which are used in the processing of contact lenses, were foil packed across five cases. Once packed, the cases needed to be moved into a 40’ High Cube container. An immediate requirement for absolute precision soon became apparent when the team realised that the maximum height of the packed case (including the pallet) measured 257cms. This left just 1cm of available space between the top and bottom of the loading door so a pair of steady hands were needed to ensure the case was loaded into the container hassle free. Working together to achieve results Our freight division then took care of shipping the container to its end destination in Newark, California, USA. We had a demanding deadline to achieve for the client but were able to manage and surpass their expectations using the combined expertise and experience of our Packing and Freight divisions within the Charles Kendall Group.
