Transforming Ghana’s Power Sector

Transforming Ghana’s Power Sector

In 2015, Charles Kendall was appointed to act as Procurement Agent for a US Government investment of up to $498m to support the transformation of Ghana’s power sector and stimulate private sector investment.

The programme, which is part of the US Governments broader Power Africa Initiative, is investing in projects focused on energy distribution to make the country’s power utility financially viable and capable of attracting private investment whilst also investing in initiatives supporting greater energy-efficiency and cleaner renewables which will provide Ghanaian homes, schools and hospitals with the access to the reliable electricity they need to thrive.

In our role we will be supporting thousands of small and medium size (SME’s) businesses, many operated by women, who do not presently have legal access to energy, receive funding to reduce barriers to access and drive economic growth.
