Freight and Packing Directors attended the BIFA Awards Luncheon Ceremony in hopes of claiming a trophy at the annual "Oscars" of the Industry. The Directors were joined by several customers and Marketing Manager, Lucy Jenner who sent a live Twitter Feed as it all unfolded. It was a special 25th year for the awards so the host was TV celebrity Julia Bradbury (of TV fame Countryfile). Sadly we did not win any trophies, but we were lucky enough to be awarded, not one but two, Finalist Certificates in the Special Services category and the Project Forwarding category. On a cold morning on Friday 25th October, our Feltham Office started the day with a warm cup of coffee and a tasty slice of cake in attempt to raise money for MacMillan and Cancer Charity. As well as runninig a £1 raffle and Euromillion tickets and £5 raffle tickets for a Kindle Fire, our staff managed to raise £762.94, one of the best totals we have had in the last five years. Special thanks to all staff who donated Prizes such as Comte and Noiron Champagne and Lanson Champage, and to our suppliers Great Branding, Print A Pix (Syncoms) and Panoramic Promotions who kindly contributed to fight against cancer. Our highlight of the event was MD Peter Sunderland who made very generous contributions to the cause.

Charles Kendall Packing have been working with the Natural History Museum for over ten years and during this time have helped them pack and move various exhibition displays and artefacts. Over Easter weekend, while most of the UK-based staff were enjoying a break, our IT team were hard at work performing the first full Disaster Recovery test. The ability for our businesses to continue if there were a disaster has been paramount since the outbreak of a fire at our London offices in 2007. The current setup aims to reduce the recovery timeframe so that business can continue even if the main datacentre were to suffer a total outage. During this simulation all data was protected, including data entered while running remotely.
