Disaster Recovery Live Test

Tuesday 16th April 2013

Over Easter weekend, while most of the UK-based staff were enjoying a break, our IT team were hard at work performing the first full Disaster Recovery test. The ability for our businesses to continue if there were a disaster has been paramount since the outbreak of a fire at our London offices in 2007. The current setup aims to reduce the recovery timeframe so that business can continue even if the main datacentre were to suffer a total outage. During this simulation all data was protected, including data entered while running remotely.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were in attendance along with actors Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench, additional co-stars, celebrity guests and the paparazzi.
